Aetna Dental Insurance Plans – Worth the Money?

Aetna is one of those huge companies that offers it’s members some rather extensive coverage for anything dental related. If you are currently searching for a good dental plan then you should at least see what plans are provided and what is covered under each one. They have two plans which aim to cover all that you or your family might want when it comes to looking after your dental health and one of those plans just might be the right one for you.

With the Aetna dental insurance plans, the benefits provided are great for self-employed individuals as well as families who need to pay for their own dental health needs. Here are some of the benefits that come with the plans:

Aetna Individual Advantage Dental has two plans which aim to get the best possible cover for those who are with these plans. The plans are called, the Individual AdvantageSM Dental PPO Plan and the Individual AdvantageSM Dental PPO Plus Plan. The difference in the plans is the actual amount of coverage that is paid by Aetna. Also, both these plans are available for those who are 49 and under and for those who are 50 and over.

The coverage members are expected to get with PPO Plus plan includes having preventive and diagnostic services 100% covered. And members get 80% covered on periodontal maintenance cleanings and Denture repair, rebase and relining. And treatments like Basic restorative (fillings), Oral surgery and Endodontics (root canals) are all 50% covered.

After 18 months on the PPO Plus plan, members get additional coverage on periodontics, Crown and cast restorations and Prosthodontics (dentures). All these treatments are 50% covered.

So with Aetna PPO Plus plan, a member’s annual deductible would be $50, and altogether their annual maximum benefit would be $1,200.
