Aetna Dental insurance was my previous dental provided until my spouse got his new job about a month ago. I was satisfied with the service that I received when making a call to the support network to ask questions about who, what and when an item would be covered. All in all my experience with this company has been positive.
There has however been one area in which they where lacking. I am not certain if it is solely Aetna Dental insurance that is to blame or my dentist office that might share is some of the responsibility. I have had a few billing issues in the past where services that should have been covered where denied or where not paid for in a timely manner, resulting in me getting a past due bill or a bill stating my insurance did not cover a procedure. This resulting in me having to take time out of my busy schedule in order to have the issues resolved. As for getting a past due bill, I think this is in part the fault of my dental office and it’s processing of bills. However, as for the denial of service I am not so certain. It was in any part a large inconvenient for myself as my time as a mother of three small children is limited.
As for the services offered by Aetna Dental insurance I was more than pleased with what and how the service were being covered or offered. We had the ability to get a check twice per year, which included a cleaning, x-rays and a general exam. This was all done as part of the insurance plan and did not cost us a dime, to my satisfaction. I am happy that this insurance coverage is as concerned with preventative care as they are with actual restorative actions. I am also happy that they did cover all though it was a small amount of one of my children orthodontic treatment. I know that not all company cover such things and am glad that at least this small portion was covered.
I am very please with the variety and number of dental providers that are within the Aetna Dental insurance network. This was a crucial thing when we moved and it became necessary for us to change general dentists. This was made very easy by way of their Internet site. I have been please overall with most aspects of their service.
